A delightful and easy trifle dessert layered with cake, cream, and fruit.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound sponge cake, cut into cubes
  • 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1 cup vanilla pudding
  • 1/2 cup sherry or fruit juice (optional)
  • Mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by cutting the sponge cake into cubes and washing the berries.
  2. If using, soak the sponge cake cubes in sherry or fruit juice for a few minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, layer half of the sponge cake cubes at the bottom of a trifle dish.
  4. Add half of the vanilla pudding over the cake layer.
  5. Layer half of the mixed berries on top of the pudding.
  6. Spread half of the whipped cream over the berries.
  7. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
  8. Finish with a layer of whipped cream on top.
  9. Garnish with mint leaves.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

  • Use fresh berries for the best flavor.
  • You can substitute the sponge cake with ladyfingers or any cake of your choice.
