- 1 cup rice
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1 cup lettuce, chopped
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
Instructions
- In a pot, combine rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cover. Cook for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning to the beef and mix well. Follow package instructions for adding water, if needed.
- Once the rice is cooked, mix it with the seasoned beef in the skillet.
- Serve taco rice in bowls and top with cheese, tomato, lettuce, sour cream, and salsa.
Notes
- Make sure to rinse the rice before cooking to remove excess starch.
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for leaner options.
