Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough forms.
  5. Fill a cookie press with the dough.
  6. Press the cookies onto ungreased baking sheets in desired shapes.
  7. Sprinkle colored sugar or sprinkles on top of each cookie.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
