Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs, sour cream, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  7. If using, fold in the chopped nuts.
  8. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
  9. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon on top.
  10. Pour the remaining batter and then sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon on top.
  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  12. Let it cool before serving.

Notes

  • Check the cake with a toothpick to avoid overbaking.
  • Let the cake cool for easier slicing.
