Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, turmeric, and chili powder.
  2. Add chicken thighs to the mixture and coat well. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Place the chopped onion in the slow cooker.
  4. Add the marinated chicken on top of the onion.
  5. Pour the crushed tomatoes over the chicken.
  6. Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
  7. Once cooked, stir in the heavy cream and season with salt.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
