A delicious blend of sloppy joe filling and cheesy goodness in a grilled cheese sandwich.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 slices of bread
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- Butter for grilling
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and green bell pepper. Cook until softened.
- Stir in ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- On the unbuttered side, place a slice of cheese, then add sloppy joe mixture, and top with another slice of cheese.
- Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese melts.
- Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
- Use lean ground beef for less grease.
- Adjust seasoning to your taste.
- Try different cheeses for variety.
- Toast the bread for extra crunch.
