A delicious blend of sloppy joe filling and cheesy goodness in a grilled cheese sandwich.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 slices of bread
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • Butter for grilling

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add onion and green bell pepper. Cook until softened.
  3. Stir in ketchup and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  5. On the unbuttered side, place a slice of cheese, then add sloppy joe mixture, and top with another slice of cheese.
  6. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side up.
  7. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cheese melts.
  8. Remove from skillet, slice, and serve warm.
