A simple and flavorful rice dish infused with herbs.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup of long-grain rice
- 2 cups of vegetable or chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until soft.
- Add minced garlic and stir for 1 minute.
- Add rice and stir for 2 minutes until slightly toasted.
- Pour in the broth and add thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer for 18-20 minutes until rice is tender.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh herbs for a stronger flavor.
- Check rice package for specific cooking times.
- Don’t lift the lid while cooking to keep steam inside.
