Description
A simple rigatoni pasta dish with a rich tomato sauce.
Ingredients

- 250g rigatoni pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 400g canned tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Grated parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente.
- In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and sauté until soft.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add canned tomatoes and dried basil. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Season the sauce with salt and pepper.
- Drain the rigatoni and add it to the sauce. Toss to combine.
- Serve hot, topped with grated parmesan cheese.
Notes
- Make sure the water is salty for better flavor.
- Don’t overcook the pasta; it should have a slight bite.
- Feel free to add vegetables or protein to the sauce for variety.
