- 1 cup of rice
- 2 cups of water
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of butter (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot.
- Cook for 18-20 minutes or until the water is absorbed.
- Remove the pot from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
- Add butter if desired and fluff the rice with a fork before serving.
Notes
- Do not lift the lid while cooking.
- Adjust the water ratio for different types of rice.
- For added flavor, try adding spices or herbs.
