A simple and delicious rice dish that you can easily make at home.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of rice
- 4 cups of water
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of butter or oil
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the salt and butter or oil to the boiling water.
- Add the rice to the pot and stir gently.
- Reduce heat to low and cover the pot with a lid.
- Cook for 18-20 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Remove the pot from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
Notes
- Make sure to rinse the rice to remove excess starch.
- Do not lift the lid while the rice is cooking.
- Letting the rice sit after cooking helps it absorb steam.
