Instructions
- Measure 1 cup of rice and rinse it under cold water.
- In a pot, add 2 cups of water and 1 tablespoon of oil.
- Bring the water to a boil.
- Add the rinsed rice and salt to the boiling water.
- Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low.
- Cook for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Turn off the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.
Notes
- Rinsing rice helps to remove excess starch.
- Do not lift the lid while cooking; it traps steam.
