Ingredients

- 2 cups pasta
- 4 cups water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup grated cheese
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until onion is soft.
- Pour in the diced tomatoes and stir for 2 minutes.
- Add water, salt, and pasta. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and cover. Cook for 10-12 minutes until pasta is tender.
- Stir in dried basil and black pepper.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle cheese on top.
- Let it sit for a few minutes before serving.

- Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Use any pasta you prefer.
