- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add ground beef, onion, and garlic. Cook until browned.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, broth, and Italian seasoning.
- Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Add broken lasagna noodles. Cook until noodles are tender.
- Stir in ricotta and half of the mozzarella until melted.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Serve hot, topped with remaining mozzarella and fresh basil.

- For a vegetarian version, substitute meat with mushrooms or lentils.
