A light and fluffy mousse dessert that’s perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs, separated
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat the egg yolks with sugar until pale and creamy.
- Add the cocoa powder and vanilla extract to the yolk mixture and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the yolk mixture.
- Then fold in the beaten egg whites until no white streaks remain.
- Pour the mixture into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Serve chilled, topped with extra whipped cream or chocolate shavings if desired.
Notes
- Make sure to separate the eggs carefully to avoid any yolk in the whites.
- Whip the cream until just right; overwhipping can make it grainy.
- Chill your serving dishes for a nicer presentation.
