- 1 medium spaghetti squash
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.
- Drizzle olive oil on the cut sides and sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Place the squash cut-side down on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the squash is tender.
- Once cooked, use a fork to scrape the flesh into spaghetti-like strands.
- In a large bowl, mix the spaghetti squash strands with marinara sauce and half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for another 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to cut the squash carefully to avoid injury.
- Don’t overcook the squash; it should be tender but not mushy.
- You can add cooked ground meat or vegetables to the mixture for more flavor.
