Instructions

- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until it reaches a soft-ball stage.
- Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 8-inch square baking dish.
- Let it cool at room temperature for about 2 hours.
- Once set, cut into squares and serve.
Notes
- Make sure to stir constantly to avoid burning.
- Check for the soft-ball stage by dropping a bit of the mixture in cold water; it should form a soft ball.
