Ingredients

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 8 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add diced onion and cook until soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and ground beef. Cook until beef is browned.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes, broth, basil, and oregano. Bring to a boil.
  5. Stir in broken lasagna noodles. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. Mix in ricotta cheese and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve hot, topped with mozzarella cheese.
