Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and garlic. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add marinara sauce to the skillet. Stir and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, salt, and pepper.
  6. In a baking dish, layer noodles, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers.
  7. Finish with remaining mozzarella and sprinkle Parmesan on top.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  10. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
