- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheese (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat.
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into 4 equal patties.
- Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
- If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking.
- Toast the hamburger buns for a minute on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble your burgers by placing a patty on each bun.
- Add lettuce, tomato, and onion as desired.
- Top with ketchup and mustard.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side.
