- 1 cup unsulfured molasses
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix molasses, brown sugar, and vegetable oil.
- Add the egg and mix until combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are set.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
- Make sure to use unsulfured molasses for a better flavor.
- Do not overbake to keep cookies soft.
- Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
