Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cupcakes cool completely on a wire rack.
- Top each cupcake with cotton candy before serving.
Notes
- Make sure your butter is softened to room temperature for better mixing.
- Do not overmix the batter; it can make the cupcakes dense.
- Check cupcakes a few minutes before the timer goes off to avoid overbaking.
