Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  3. Add the salt and olive oil to the boiling water.
  4. Add the rinsed rice to the pot.
  5. Stir once, then cover the pot with a lid.
  6. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 18 minutes.
  7. After 18 minutes, remove the pot from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes without lifting the lid.
  8. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.

Notes

  • Make sure to rinse the rice to remove excess starch.
  • Do not lift the lid while cooking.
  • For extra flavor, you can add herbs or spices to the water.
