- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
- In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, and chili powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Enjoy your cookies warm or at room temperature!
Notes
- Make sure your butter is softened, not melted.
- Don’t overmix the dough; mix until just combined.
- Feel free to adjust the chili powder to your taste.
