- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- Powdered sugar for coating
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, cayenne pepper, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla. Mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Stir until combined.
- Fold in dark chocolate chips.
- Use a spoon to scoop dough and roll it into balls.
- Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
- Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until slightly cracked on top.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Make sure not to overmix the dough.
- Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can help if it’s too sticky.
- Adjust cayenne amount based on your spice preference.
