Description
Cabbage rolls are a comforting dish made with tender cabbage leaves stuffed with a savory filling.

- 1 large head of cabbage
- 1 cup of rice
- 1 pound of ground beef or turkey
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) of diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 oz) of tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup of water
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Carefully remove the core from the cabbage.
- Place the cabbage in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until leaves soften.
- Remove the leaves and let them cool.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until soft.
- In a bowl, combine cooked rice, ground meat, sautéed onion and garlic, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Take a cabbage leaf, add about 2 tablespoons of filling, and roll it up tightly.
- Place rolled cabbage seam-side down in a baking dish.
- Mix diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and water; pour over the cabbage rolls.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake at 350°F for 1 hour.
- Remove from oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a sharp knife to remove the core from the cabbage.
- If the leaves tear, use them anyway; just make sure to fold them carefully.
- You can substitute ground meat with beans for a vegetarian option.
- Adding herbs like dill or parsley can enhance the flavor.
