- 1 cup macaroni
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add flour and stir until smooth. Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually add milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps.
- Continue to cook until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheddar and Parmesan cheese until melted.
- Add salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix well.
- Combine cheese sauce with cooked macaroni. Stir until well coated.
- Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to stir the sauce continuously to prevent burning.
- Feel free to add cooked vegetables or protein for extra flavor.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
