Description

A delightful Boston cream dessert that combines a rich custard filling, a fluffy cake base, and a glossy chocolate glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup prepared vanilla pudding

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened butter and sugar until creamy.
  3. Add in the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, cut the cake in half horizontally.
  9. Spread vanilla pudding on the bottom layer.
  10. Place the top layer back on the cake.
  11. In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream until just boiling.
  12. Add chocolate chips and stir until melted and smooth.
  13. Pour the chocolate glaze over the top of the cake.
  14. Let the chocolate set before slicing.
