A simple recipe for the best sour cabbage rolls filled with meat and rice.

- 1 large head of sour cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 2 cups broth or water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully separate the leaves from the sour cabbage.
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef, cooked rice, onion, tomato paste, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Take a cabbage leaf and place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center.
- Fold the sides over the filling and roll it tightly.
- Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling.
- In a baking dish, spread half of the diced tomatoes and half of the broth.
- Place the cabbage rolls seam side down in the dish.
- Top with the remaining diced tomatoes and broth.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh cabbage if sour cabbage is not available.
- Be careful not to overfill the cabbage leaves.
- Check rolls halfway through cooking to ensure they are not drying out.
