- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup diced apples
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- Add the cold butter and mix until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the milk until just combined.
- Fold in the diced apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently.
- Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
- Place the biscuits on a baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Use cold butter for flaky biscuits.
- Dice apples small for even cooking.
